The ‘Claret Ash’ tree is a South Australian icon, so it is appropriate to find it planted in the Barossa Valley, itself an iconic South Australian wine region. Born and bred here and now planted worldwide, it is a deciduous tree with small narrow leaves which are deep green throughout summer, but turn an intense claret colour during autumn.
